Sexual Health Work: The PMLD & Autism Perspective - 3 Days - T0115q

Abstract

The aim of this course is to give course participants, both staff and carers a thorough overview and understanding in working with the dilemmas of sexuality and sexual health from the context of people with severe, multiple and profound learning disabilities including autism.  Course participants will become familiar with issues of working with sexual health and sexuality from the perspective of working with people with PMLD and autism.  A variety of areas will be addressed in order to shed light on how to work appropriately with this client grouping in order to address their sexual health needs.  The legal aspects will also be reviewed throughout the course.
