Communication Links and Working With Autism Training - 1 Day - T0181a

Abstract

This course is aimed at those staff and carers who support children and adolescents with autism who have problems in devising communication links with young people.  Emphasis will be placed upon understanding communication processes in children and adolescents who have autism and how to overcome obstacles within communication.  All levels of autism will be addressed in order for course participants to devise the most appropriate communication links with the young people they support.  Difficulties in this work will also be addressed as a way of devising strategies to alleviate problems in communication processes.  Understanding and interpreting behaviours will be addressed throughout the training day.
