Understanding & Conducting Risk Assessments Within Disability Services - 2 Days - T0124eQU
Abstract
The aim of the course is to enable participants to explore issues relating to components of risk and its assessment when supporting people within disability services. Participants will learn what is understood by: risk, risk assessment and risk management when working with this client group. The difficulty of balancing the management of risks and the rights of the individual will be of paramount concern throughout the training. Elements of risk will be addressed at all levels: risk to staff, risk to users of services and risk to the self. Course participants will learn to use appropriate risk assessment tools that can be used within the workplace setting. The course has been devised to inform procedural practice. There will be a brief course test undertaken at the end of the course.
