Person Centred Planning: Understanding The Value Base - 2 Days - T0228a

Abstract

The course is designed to help staff review the principles of Normalisation and Social Role Valorisation with reference to working with people with learning disabilities in order to fully appreciate the underlying value base to person-centred planning.  Course participants will review how these principles have evolved over time and how they now impact upon people with learning disabilities within community based settings.  Staff will look at the inherent framework, including the legal aspects that underpin this area of working and become familiar in how to adapt these principles to their workplace setting, thus increasing the quality of life for the people they are caring for.
