Challenging Behaviour and Dual Diagnosis Training - 2 Days - T0118k
Abstract
The aim of this course is to give a thorough overview of the area of challenging behaviours within the field of learning disabilities. Staff will become familiar with areas specific to challenging behaviour when working with clients with learning disabilities and how best to deal with behaviours that are presented in a specific service. Course participants will learn to utilise a variety of techniques throughout the training that are purely non-aversive in nature. Emphasis will be placed upon applying the training principles learned directly into your own working practice. The course will also aim to address working with challenging behaviour from a dual diagnosis perspective in order to fully understand the impact of mental illness upon challenging behaviours.
