Engaging Perpetrators Of Domestic Abuse In Therapeutic Work - One Day - T0157f
Abstract
The course is aimed at those workers who have responsibility in undertaking therapeutic work with perpetrators of domestic abuse in both group and individual work. The course will cover a variety of areas comprised within this field to look at how to secure engagement in individuals and how to prevent relapse and drop out of therapeutic work. Emphasis will be placed on dealing with difficult aspects of the therapeutic process pertaining to issues such as resistance and denial. Applications of the motivational interviewing process will be used throughout this training. Emphasis will be placed upon good practice issues.
