Motivational Interviewing Training - Two Days - T0132hQU

Abstract

The aim of the course is to enable participants to explore issues relating to the concepts of motivational interviewing.  Course participants will be given thorough grounding in utilising this methodological framework within the workplace setting.  The focus of the course will address issues pertinent to working with parents who fall into the remit of substance misuse and/or mental health problems, and/or display abusive behaviours. Participants will be given guidance in applying these skills in the context of the assessment and planning of work process. Participants will also learn to recognise the difference between helping and therapeutic support, consequently to acknowledge when to refer to other agencies for help and assistance.  A test will be administered at the end of the course.
