Communication Links And Working With Mental Illness And Disabilities Training - Two Days - T0181f

Abstract

This course is aimed at those staff and carers who support young people with mental illness and/or disabilities who have problems in devising communication links with these client groups.  Emphasis will be placed upon understanding communication processes in young people with mental illness and disabilities and how to overcome obstacles within communication.  All levels of communication will be addressed in order for course participants to devise the most appropriate communication links with the young people they support.  Difficulties in this work will also be addressed as a way of devising strategies to alleviate problems in communication processes.  Understanding and interpreting behaviours will be addressed throughout the training days.
