Bereavement And Loss Issues In Working With People With Learning Disabilities - 2 Days - T0121bQU

Abstract

To enable participants to explore issues relating to bereavement, grief and loss and to analyse theory in relation to this area.  Individuals will learn to understand the concepts of professional and personal mourning, and how to support and aid those individuals who endure bereavement and loss.  Emphasis will be placed upon the concept of learning disability in how bereavement & loss impacts upon the individual. Course participants will learn to support the recently bereaved and learn to work with loss in relation to issues such as age, illness and disability.  Issues pertaining to terminality will also be addressed.  Course participants will undertake a test at the end of the course.
