Diversity Training - One Day - T0183aQU

Abstract

The aim and focus of this one day event will be looking at managing and developing good practice in equality and diversity within local authorities.  Emphasis will be placed upon developing self-awareness in the area of equality and diversity issues in order to be able to work effectively with diverse groups of people.  A full analysis of the ‘isms’ will take place in order to fully understand both the very subtle and blatant usage of discrimination in practice.  The day will aim to challenge individual pre-conceptions in a range of aspects in order to promote a true anti-discriminatory regime where people can work together more effectively.  The course will focus upon best practice issues throughout the day.  Course participants will undertake a test at the end of the course.
