Abstract
The aim of the course is to enable participants to explore issues relating to issues pertaining to Mental Health and Learning Disabilities and to fully understand the differences between them. The course will raise an individual’s awareness of people who have enduring mental health problems and look at why people with learning disabilities are prone to mental illness. There will be a thorough review of mental illnesses that people endure within both a hospital and community setting. Course participants will be given indication of the current legislation pertaining to this area of work and look at therapeutic ways of working with people with mental health problems who also have a learning disability. The course will aim to inform current workplace practice. Course participants will undertake a test at the end of the course.
