Understanding Working with Dementia, Downs Syndrome and Palliative Care - 1 Day - T0187b
Abstract
The aim of the course is to familiarize participants with concepts relating to Dementia in people with Downs Syndrome and how this impacts upon the person and how this affects those around them, linking into the remit of palliative care. The course will provide a thorough review of understanding the rudiments of Dementia in people with Downs Syndrome. The complexity of this phenomenon will be explored in order to enable carers to work in a more insightful manner in order to promote best practice in the workplace. Causational and treatment factors will be explored at length in order to inform current working practice. The course will thoroughly review the process of palliative care.
