Stroke and Learning Disabilities Training - One Day - T0224

Abstract

The aim of the course is to enable participants to explore issues relating to stroke and learning disabilities and to analyse theory in relation to this area.  Individuals will learn to understand the concepts of professional and personal mourning, and how to support and aid those individuals who endure bereavement and loss issues as a direct result of stroke.  Emphasis will be placed upon the concept of vulnerable individuals and the issues inherent when working within this client group. Course participants will learn to support clients who are directly affected by stroke.  Best practice issues will be addressed throughout the training.
