Palliative Care and Learning Disabilities - One Day - T0213b
Abstract
The aim of the course is to enable participants to explore issues relating to palliative care and learning disabilities and to analyse theory in relation to this area. Individuals will learn to understand the concepts of professional and personal mourning, and how to support and aid those individuals who endure bereavement and loss issues. Emphasis will be placed upon the concept of vulnerable individuals and the issues inherent when working within this client group. Course participants will learn to support clients who experience loss in relation to issues such as age, illness and disability. Issues pertaining to terminality will also be addressed.
