Understanding And Working With Personality Disorders Training (1 Day) – T0192r

Abstract

The overall aim of this course is to introduce course participants with the phenomenon of personality disorder. Course participants will begin to appreciate the fundamental aspects of personality disorder and the onset of problems associated with personality disorder when working with parents who care for their children. This course will combine this disorder with direct emphasis upon working with people with mental health problems and how this impacts upon parenting. A range of aspects will be covered over the day to highlight the difficulties of working with an individual with personality disorder and how to cope with a highly complex area of work. Both the positives and negatives of the work will be addressed in conjunction with best practice issues. Emphasis for this course will be aimed at those staff who work within the context of housing support.
