Understanding And Working With Autism And Pathological Demand Avoidance Disorder (PDA) (1 Day) - T0201p

Abstract

The aim of the course is to give a detailed analysis of the area of autism and PDA and the challenges to communication when supporting children and young people. Staff and carers will become familiar with areas specific to autism, PDA and communication issues when working with people with autism and how best to deal with behaviours that are presented. Course participants will learn to utilise a variety of techniques throughout the training that are purely non-aversive in nature. Emphasis will be placed upon applying the training principles learned directly into your own working practice.
