Abstract

The aim of the course is to give course participants a range of cognitive and behavioural techniques that can be used directly in the workplace when working therapeutically with children and young people within an educational setting. The course will look at both cognitive and behavioural approaches in their own right in terms of the implementation in practice from reviewing assessment processes, writing treatment formulations and delivering treatment plans. A range of aspects will be addressed to analyse how cognitive and behavioural techniques can be utilised to obtain the best therapeutic results when working with children. The course is aimed at informing best practice and participants will be tested throughout the programme for competency based practice.
