Abstract
The overall aim of this course is to introduce course participants with the use of psychosocial interventions in working with secondary trauma and attachment issues. Course participants will begin to appreciate the fundamental aspects of using psychosocial interventions to assist foster carers supporting children and young people to manage secondary trauma and attachment issues more effectively. This course will combine a range of interventions that can assist the foster care placement and offset the likelihood of placement breakdown. A range of aspects will be covered to highlight practical solutions that can be put in place from a psychosocial perspective to assist foster carers in their interface with children and young people. Best practice issues will be addressed throughout the training.
