Dealing with Loss & Bereavement Issues: A Brain Bank Perspective Training - 1 Day - T0121p
Abstract
The aim of the course is to enable participants to explore issues relating to bereavement, grief and loss from a brain bank perspective. Individuals will learn to understand the concepts of professional and personal mourning, and how to support and aid those individuals who endure bereavement and loss as a direct result of illness and death. Emphasis will be placed upon best practice and the issues inherent when working with having to decline donations and communicating with next of kin on very sensitive issues. Course participants will learn how to work effectively with the recently bereaved specific to a range of issues specific to organ donation. Best practice issues will be addressed throughout the day of training.
