Bereavement & Loss Within Substance Misuse Training - 2 Days - T0121n

Abstract

The aim of the course is to enable participants to explore issues relating to bereavement, grief and loss and to analyse theory in relation to this area specific to the substance misuse field. Individuals will learn to understand the concepts of professional and personal mourning, and how to support and aid those individuals who endure bereavement and loss. Emphasis will be placed upon the concept of working within the substance misuse field in how bereavement & loss impacts upon the individual. This will include working with suicidal ideation and self-harm issues Course participants will learn to support the recently bereaved and those who have issues of loss specific to substance misuse. Best practice issues will be addressed throughout the training.
