Motivational Interviewing In Substance Misuse Training - 2 Days - T0132x

Abstract

The aim of the course is to enable participants to explore issues relating to the concepts of motivational interviewing. Course participants will be given thorough grounding in utilising this methodological framework within the workplace setting. The focus of the course will address issues pertinent to working with people with alcohol and/or drug problems. Participants will be given guidance in applying these counselling skills in the context of motivational interviewing. Participants will also learn to recognise the difference between helping and therapeutic support, consequently to acknowledge when to refer to other agencies for help and assistance.
